Our Experience:

First 4 boat training is a small, friendly business which combines the family feel with highly professional instruction to help its clients obtain their boating aspirations. Along with the RYA courses offered we can also provide tailor made instruction on customers own boats, so as to be able to offer the client exactly what they want and need.

Our Boat - Sybaris Humber 35

SYBARIS

Our boat SYBARIS is a Humber 35 , or a Nelson by any other name . Humber boats were originally built in Yorkshire using the Hull design of the Nelson 34 which was a boat designed by the famous t t Boat Company renowned for strength and durability. She is a semi displacement boat with that sea kindly hull with enclosed centre helm position. She has twin 185 hp Diesel turbo charged engines giving a comfortable cruising speed of 12 knots but able to push on to 16 knots if you need to get in in a hurry. She is coded for six people with the YDSA. She has passed the tilt test for ten people but there will never be more than 5 of us onboard. In addition to the traditional navigation equipment she has just had all her electronic navigation equipment updated with new AXION chart plotter , Radar and AIS. The boat has a bow thruster to help polish those manoeuvring exercises .

Runaway – A Seamaster 813

Our inland waterway, crew and helmsman courses on a classic wheel steered river cruiser called ‘Runaway’ – A Seamaster 813. She is a single diesel engine shaft driven boat which is ideal for training as she has a large enclosed rear cockpit, saloon, galley and heads.

White Minx – A Novamarine RH 600

Our Rib White Minx is a 6-meter, cat 2 rib, fitted with a 115 Tohatsu  Four-stroke outboard, she is a fast but safe training rib fitted out with all new navigation equipment including state of the art Raymarine Plotter and Icom Radio the perfect teaching platform.

Our classes and courses meet the specific RYA requirements to enable us to issue internationally recognised qualifications. The water based courses are safe and fun, conducted by our experienced instructor who understands the different ways people learn making our courses enjoyable for everyone.
